Certain things are very Weekday. The fact that no store looks like the
other, the design from our own labels MTWTFSS, Store Made and
Weekday Collaborations mixed with Cheap Monday and great vintage,
the parties that we love to arrange – and of course the Weekday rabbit.
Every Weekday store is unique. They do share certain design elements
like colour schemes and tilting angles, but each store has its very
own story. Imagine a photo taken the moment a bomb goes off. This
is in short the idea behind “Toxic Explosion”, the theme for one of
Weekday’s stores in Sweden. The pillars in the premises are all broken,
some have even fallen to the floor and serve as displays for the clothes
and all the racks point like arrows from an imagined epicentre. We
create places that people want to return to. This also means that some
of the interior design solutions might never have been tried before. But
we strongly believe that new ideas are worth the extra effort. We want
our stores to be a mixture of friendly staff, great music and interiors
that combine exciting high-tech solutions with a touch of old school.
Weekday’s stores are constantly updated with the latest designs from
our own brands MTWTFSS and Store Made, from Cheap Monday
and from Weekday Collaborations. Weekday has formed Weekday
Collaborations where young and creative designers, often straight from
leading fashion schools, create unique products exclusively for us. So
far the collaborations have included talented designers such as Carin
Wester, Nhu Duong and Minimarket.
Weekday started off as a tiny store on Lilla Essingen in Stockholm. It
was called Weekend back then because it was only open Saturdays and
Sundays. Lilla Essingen isn’t exactly the most central location and in
order to get customers to visit us we had to have the best vintage gar-
ments in town. We also sold sharp looking skinny jeans that we really
liked, but not that many people seemed to agree with us – at the time.
On the 18th of April 2002, the first Weekday store opened on Olofsga-
tan in central Stockholm. Today we have several stores in Sweden and
in Denmark. It seems like our customers find us credible because we
are honest about what we like and work hard to fill the stores with an
up to date mixture of inspiring design just for them. For young, urban
individuals that love fashion and music as much as we do. The story
of Weekday began in Sweden but we strongly believe that the next
chapter will take place in cities around the globe.
