Lars Stoten
Lars Stoten's hands are embedded with a tailor's muscle-memory. Growing up between Denmark and London, his childhood is steeped in the language of his grandfather's trade. Inspired to sharpen his informal family training as a tailor's grandson, Lars attended the academically rigorous Denmark Designskole (DKDS) as well as the prestigious Otaru Bunka School of Fashion in Japan. After completing both a graduate and post-graduate degree in menswear design, Lars remained in Japan to complete a pattern making rotation with Shimauchi Kazuya.
It is this lifelong devotion to the intelligent hand working that led Lars to return to the UK and create Mjölk in 2004. His reverence for tradition speaks to the impeccable quality of all of Mjölk's endeavors, while his deep appetite for art, design, and music provides an abundance of inspiration for color, texture and line. Mjölk is currently based out of New York.
