Julia Menthel studied fashion design in Florence, Italy for two semesters and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York. Julia worked as an accessories designer for Anne Klein for three years before freelancing as a jewelry design consultant for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. After two years of consulting, she was accepted on a one-year course at Central Saint Martin's and moved to London in 2000. After successfully finishing the program, she moved back to her hometown Berlin to start her own business, while still traveling frequently to New York to work as a freelance jewelry designer for Tommy Hilfiger. Her own collection of jewelry was launched in 2005 in Berlin, where she finds herself finally placed within a perfect working and living environment.
